This is a translation for convenience. The German version is legally binding.
The short version
- Your voice never leaves your device. The microphone signal is analyzed only in your browser. No recordings are stored or transmitted.
- No accounts, no cookies, no tracking. We use no analytics or advertising services and embed no third-party content. Fonts and icons are loaded from our own server.
- Your results stay in your browser. Profiles, exercise results and settings are stored locally only. We have no access to them.
- When you visit the website, our hosting provider Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Jonas Pröll
Barfüßerstraße 5

2. Hosting and delivery (Cloudflare)
This website is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). With every request, Cloudflare processes technically necessary access data: your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser and operating system information. This is required to send the website to your browser, to operate it reliably and to protect it from attacks (e.g. DDoS).
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is a secure and reliable provision of the website. Cloudflare processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Cloudflare keeps this data only as long as needed for delivery and security. We ourselves only receive aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g. the number of page views) and no data that identifies you. More information: Cloudflare's privacy policy.
3. Microphone
For the exercises, your browser asks for access to the microphone. The signal is analyzed in real time on your device (pitch and loudness). It is neither recorded nor transmitted to us or third parties. You can revoke access at any time in your browser settings.
4. Local storage in your browser
So that the app works and your progress is kept, it stores data in your browser's storage (IndexedDB and localStorage):
- profiles (a name you choose), vocal range, exercise levels and exercise results,
- your own songs (melodies) and audio files you import for them,
- microphone settings and calibration per device,
- settings such as the chosen language and the active profile.
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us. Storing it is strictly necessary for the function you request (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG); processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. You can delete the data at any time by deleting profiles in the app or clearing the site data in your browser. The backup function lets you export it as a file to your device; that file isn't transmitted to us either.
5. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed for this and no statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Links to other websites
The science page and the blog link to sources and other websites. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider when you click such a link; their privacy policy then applies.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). To exercise them, use the email address above. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the member state where you live.
There is no automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
